Drift Nepal are a rafting agency based in central Thamel. They are situated directly
beneath the 'San Miguel' sign, near the entrance to Le Bistro. This is literally around the
corner from the Kathmandu guest house.
My recommendation comes from working alongside their team whilst based on the Bhote Kosi in
the fall season of 2001. Their staff were friendly, professional and a great bunch of guys
to have leading you on a journey down a river.
Drift offer journeys on all of the main rafting rivers in Nepal and were at the forefront of
rafting rivers at high levels. They were one of only four river operators to run the Bhote
kosi river throughout the fall season.
Drift Nepal also offer four day kayak clinics on the Upper Sun Kosi river sections when the
levels are appropriate.

KB Gurung hails from Chitwan by the banks of the Narayani River. He was raised by the river
and has always worked on the rivers. He has spent the last 8 years guiding rivers in Nepal,
Scotland and Switzerland. From small beginnings he eventually held the position of senior
boatman with Himalayan Encounters. KB is a thinker and is always coming up with ways to perfect
