Ganesh Kayak Hire is situated in Pokhara and is more than just a kayak
hire shop. Offering boats, gear, rafts, duckies and even a gear boat guide,
this shop allows you to explore the rivers of Nepal in an empty kayak without
having to tag along to the set departures of a rafting operator.
In addition Inflatable Kayaks, Rafts and Gear Rafts are
available, with driver if needed. At the current time Charley has seven rafts,
2 cata-rafts and even a full kitchen ready to take out onto the river of your
choice! The shop also offers Kayak clinics on the Seti River.
The main thing that impressed me about the set-up at Ganesh kayak hire is that
for the first time kayakers in Nepal are not now tied to the departures of rafting
operators to run trips.
In the past you had two choices -
Travel independently carrying all equipment and food, paddling heavy boats but
with the choice to explore and set your own time scales.
OR
Travel with a raft operator who would carry your food and gear, but you were
tied to their travel and time arrangements.
With Ganesh hire you don't need to bring boats to Nepal if you don't want, AND
you can set your own time limits by hiring a gearboat, kitchen and driver -
so if you do find that amazing playspot - you can stay a few days and chill
out!
