At the time of going to press Sunrise are the only government registered paragliding school
in Nepal. I spoke to a couple in March 2001 who had tried the tandem jump - and in terms of
adrenaline & value for money this deal is pretty unbeatable . . .
Tandem Flight
The Tandem flight is from Sarangkot, which is at the end of a ridge to the north of Pokhara.
This much climbed view-point couldn't be a better place in my opinion - Views of the entire
Annapurna range to the North, Pokhara and the Phewa lake to the south. It's also very easily
accessible from Pokhara.
In the brochure a 15-45 minute flight is offered, but the couple I spoke to had 40 and 55
minute flights. At $65 for the flight, the value for money is second to none. Flying alongside
Himalayan Griffon Vultures with this incredible scenery backdrop has to be an experience of a
lifetime.
Although I visited the office out of season the staff were helpful and keen. I've no doubt that
when I visit next in the Autumn, I'll be booking a flight.
